Hey! Old people!
I want to start this weekend thinker with a few questions and I would really like to hear some answers from readers in the comments section. By the way, I am writing this post while on the road — to my wife’s high-school reunion (as in 50 years).
Is there any experience (click here for a relevant Roger Ebert meditation) that stirs up more memories than walking through the halls, decades later, of your old high school? It’s like: Oh, look, that’s the corner where I hide when my world ended and all hope was lost. As it turned out, that wasn’t the truth. It just seemed that way.

The irony, of course, is that — half a century later — I can reach them via social media (think old timers and Facebook).
I also (#triggerwarning) did lots of voluntary and mandatory reading. I remember lots of strategic quick meetings with teachers and students with whom I was involved in projects of various kinds, ranging from events linked to choral music to students planning the occasional prank that would not lead to discipline of any kind.
