Marcus and I had a meeting last week. We're discussing some possibilities of working together. Not sure if this would be the end-result, but we'll see what happens.
Since the original SNL featured largely unknown talent, it might be interesting to explore the options on the roster at Drybar. I'd happily take a position writing family-friendly song parodies in the writer's room...or at least on the wall in their restroom...of course in good, clean, erasable marker.
Matt Meese and Jared Shores from Studio C and anyone else who worked with them. In some ways what you are describing reminds me of what they were doing.
"Who are the first funny young folks who come to mind if you are trying to create a cast for a truly countercultural SNL for the other half of America?"
Writers. Writers come first, then the cast. I could easily write for a countercultural other-half SNL; one of my friends and I do that as a hobby in our spare time. In terms of SNL writers, I could see myself functioning as a Non-Kosher version of Robert Smigel: primarily a writer who occasionally appears onstage to act. And I know a guy I could bring along to help.
My DMs are open if anyone wants to talk more about this.
Why not Chris Pratt? He is a player on the acting side. So you are nominating people for a younger version of the Ambassador concept, as opposed to professions in comedy and humor writing and performance.
I'd love to see this and, even more, help create it.
I wanted to see if anyone would nominate you or Marcus Pittman himself.

Total agreement here on the writing angle. I chose "funny folks" as a way to imply people with skills other than stand-up or in addition to stand-up.
Of course, stand-up comics ARE primarily writers.
Jeff Allen is really funny, but he's nowhere near under 40.
Alan Ritchson, Jennifer Garner? Though not strictly comedians, have their comedic acting moments. Perhaps not Chris Pratt.

Tim Hawkins - although he may be 50 by now.
Do you have a good YouTube URL?
Found his channel here but he doesn't seem to post often.
